#movement21 jury announcement
After SHOW14, the I Love Belgium team is heading to Ghent tonight to attend tonight #movement21 the catwalk show of the Royal Academy of Ghent/Kask. I Love Belgium friend and supporter Kristopher Arden Houser, journalist, writer and fashion consultant gave us an exclusive insight in this year's impressive list of international jury members (of which he is also a part of) :
Anne Christine Persson, Vice President & Development Director, Copenhagen Fashion Week, Style.com contributor - Denmark
Betony Vernon, Author & Designer - France
Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor to H&M - Sweden
Thibaut Victor Wychowanok, Deputy Editor Numero - France
Yaz Bukey, Designer & Teacher - France/Turkey
After Antwerp (Royal Academy for Fine Arts) and Brussels (La Cambre), KASK in Ghent has created a really attractive fashion program. New appointments include advisors like Marina Yee (one of the original Antwerp Six designers), iconic Belgian journalist Veerle Windels, lecturers like New York stylist/editor Tom Van Dorpe (a Ghent native, you may remember the interview I Love Belgium did with him) and an international effort to cross-educate via worships and exhibitions. Recently in Hong Kong, Her Royal Highness of Belgium, Queen Mathilde, signed a treaty during “Design Week” between KASK’s fashion programs and the fashion program of their leading polytechnic. With these international collaborations and exposure, it's really exciting to see where this program is going.
The I Love Belgium team will report on the show tomorrow (for those not being able to attend the show tonight, check our instagram @ilovebelgiumblog, hereunder you'll also find some exclusive pictures by Karmen Ayvazyan, shot during the jury presentation this afternoon). We also heard in the grapevine designers Minju Kim, Devon Halfnight Leflufy, Damien Ravn and Bruno Pieters will attend the show tonight. The creative juices will be flowing in Ghent tonight.
