We ‘re not finished on the knitwear topic as we just wrote about Isabelle Baines clothing. Also at Morrison the Olyslager brothers are motivated to make war against cold with the weapon of knitwear. In order to prevent us from the cold, the Morrison clothes are handcrafted in Scotland, which is known for the finest knitwear in the world.
Morrison was found by the Olyslager family in 1981, and is now 30 years later still in the hands of the family, taken over by the sons; the Olyslager brothers. The concept is to provide quality clothing that will survive a lifetime, kind of a movement against the throwaway society we live in nowadays.
Morrison is a line of old fashioned knitwear sweaters and scarves, this is why the Olyslager brothers gave birth to another side collection in 2009 as an outlet for their creativity. This is when Howlin’ By Morrison was born. The playful Howlin is Slang (Scottish) for ‘smelly’, in which they give themselves more space for experimentation with patterns.
The Nationalestraat 20 in Antwerp is where they have their shop, filled with quality knitwear and other brands they (and we) love. With striking typographies they add value to the interior of their shop and events.
Equal to their cosy shop they also have an active online store, with a selection of good vintage music, and Belgian darling Bent Van Looy as fitting model. In short; a joy for our eyes, ears and skin.
