It’s not only ILoveBelgium who promotes this little country. Veerle Pieters is doing the same since 2000 with her inspirational blog. This freelance graphic designer has an eye for Belgian Graphic design Talent. As she mentions herself “throughout the history of print and, later, graphic design, we’ve amassed a formidable body of work: elegant to quirky and playful, edgy and modern to gloriously antiquarian”. She collected the best of the best to be admired in her “Belgian Graphic Design” section.
You will discover recent covers for the New Yorker by Jan Van Der veken, the rather playful holiday graphics by Khuan+Ktron for Weekend Knack or the comic-like drawing of Pieter De Poortere for Focus Knack. Next to these contemporary graphic designers you’ll find seaside posters of 1938, world exposition graphics of 1958 or a Red Star Line poster of 1899!
The I Love Belgium team was thrilled by the work of designer Paul Ibou. We especially loved the sixties owl series! But check it out and see what appeals to you…
