Today, realistic images may be as fake like Turkish Louis Vuitton bags, special effects are added by pushing a button and models are slimmed through the help of a digital brush. That’s why the I Love Belgium team was happy to discover the work of graphic design agency SOON. Read the rest of this entry »

Ultramegalore
Friday 26th of March Belgian top model Hannelore Knuts will be opening her own exhibition at the Modemuseum in Hasselt: Ultramegalore. The exhibition is an overview of Hannelore’s career at the top of the fashion world. You can expect a private view in her universe that reaches further than fashion. Everybody who knows Hannelore will confirm she has a creative soul. Whether she’s doing photography on her blog, designing her own bag for Belgian luxury leatherwear brand Delvaux or curating this exhibition, creativity is a natural fuel to her. She will make a compilation of her favourite designers, photographers, artists and musicians. People she has met along the way, that have inspired her or at least have left an indelible impression on her. Regardless of whether they are ‘in’ or not. She wants to share these impressions the way she collected them. A cluster of encounters, a mass of impacts. Read the rest of this entry »

Ouni rulez

Elisabeth Ouni is a Belgian model who’s got it going on. Not only is she strutting her stuff in front of the camera, she also knows her way behind the camera. The Ostend born beauty is traveling around the world to interview and photograph her favourite hip hop stars with her polaroid camera. You can follow her hip hop city hoppin’ on her blog ‘No balls, no glory; a polaroid story’. It’s amazing what she does to chase and shoot the likes of Theophilus London, Jazzy Jeff (The Fresh Prince of Bel Air anyone?), Skillz, Baloji (former member of the Belgian hip hop crew Starflam), SA RA, Eve,…but she never gives up. Big ass bouncers, pretentious door bitches or snotty PR people watch out, she’s ready to rumble and she’ll not leave before she has taken her precious polaroid. You must give it to her, the ‘balls’ in this story do not belong to a man… More polaroids after the jump.
Become fan of No balls, no glory; a polaroid story on Facebook or follow Elisabeth’s adventures on Twitter.
