‘The Social Network’ loves Belgian music! The haunting soundtrack of the Facebook story telling movie trailer is done by Scala, the Belgian girls led by the Kolacny Brothers. The track, which helped the trailer to earn 1.2 million YouTube views since its July release, gives this national phenomenon the opportunity to go global.
The simple and brilliant idea of Kolacny Brothers exists out of a classical all-girls choir, accompanied by a classical piano, singing refreshing and brilliant covers of popular rock classics! Their first CD, ‘Scala On The Rocks’ already covered the Radiohead Classic: Creep. The popularity that it received by the audience and online translated into being chosen as the title theme track for one of the most anticipated movie of the year.
The 40-member choir in 1996 grew out to be an 200-strong girl choir today. As Scala spreads its wings, they embark on their first U.S.tour in April 2011 with a repertoire that includes original compositions and popular rock classic covers, it won’t take long before Scala and the Kolacny Brothers conquer the world (just like Facebook did)!
