Coccodrillo, Antwerp’s most renowned shoe store finally dedicated a whole store to their men’s collections. The art-deco inspired interior of the men’s store, just across the first Coccodrillo store in the Schuttershofstraat, was done by Gert Voorjans. The space breathes 30s Buenos Aires with loads of wooden accents and geometrical chandeliers confirming the male character of the store.I Love Belgium

Coccodrillo was established in 1984 by Geert Bruloot and Eddy Michiels and since the beginning they have been fashion-forward. There was a clear link between the boutique and the fashion industry. In the past 25 years they’ve supported a number of übertalented Belgian designers such as Martin Margiela with his first shoe collection in the mid 80s even before he started Maison Martin Margiela. Of course you’ll also find other Belgians there: Dirk Bikkembergs, Dries Van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester to name a few. They are featured next to international big houses such as Prada, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain and for the classic gentleman Church’s and John Lobb.
Their search for new designers continues. Now they’ve selected some exclusive designs from Giuseppe Zanotti and Nicholas Kirkwood. Every year they also support the Antwerp Fashion Academy by awarding the most promising fashion student displaying creativity and craftsmanship is his shoe designs for his collection.
