Blast from the Past
What do you get when you put a a talented photographer, an eccentric stylist and a colorful make-up artist in a room full of vintage high fashion pieces? Yes, a very crazy fashion shoot. When we were sent these pictures we were immediately mesmerized. The fact that we got an exclusive preview of them, makes us even more excited.
First of all we love the work of photographer Tine Claerhout, she continues to astonish us with beautiful poetic high fashion images. Than there's Mathieu De Mayer, better known under his nickname Miaou. The I Love Belgium team knows Matthieu already quite sometime. He is not only very talented, he is also one of the nicest people we've ever met, a real pure soul. Trained as a hairdresser and a self-taught make-up artist, he not only collaborates with fashion photographers but also with artists. His style is exuberant, joyful and controlled at the same time. Just perfect for this shoot, where he could go wild with colors an different hair pieces.
Stylist Philippe Pourhashemi is also a fashion journalist (for Metal Magazine, The Word Magazine and he's also a blogger for fashion icon Diane Pernet) and fashion consultant. He lives and breathes fashion. No wonder he was ecstatic when he got his hands on these vintage pieces (Versace, Yves Saint Laurent,...unfortunately no Belgian pieces but that's maybe an idea for the sequel) all owned by collector Nathalie actually who owns a vintage store called Pièce Unique in Brussels.
But enough with the talking, feast your eyes, go back in time and remember what one classy French lady once said: style never goes out of fashion.
