Assemblé makes the past and the future meet. They make the cutest retro silhouettes on children’s size, introducing future generations to past generations. ‘Debardeurkes’, wool sweaters, high waistline skirts, you name it, Assemblé has it or will make it especially for you.
Assemblé is the initiative of Belgian natives Machteld van de Perre and Anoek Luyten. Each semester they design six new models for children. The clothes are made out of vintage tissues rescued from the garbage bin, as it are actually stock surpluses from the ‘50s ‘60s and ‘70s. Resulting into very unique collections because there is only a limited amount of tissue for each design. You can already imagine the quality of the tissues and the joyful vintage patterns and colours.
You would wish this wasn’t only a children’s brand. Well it isn’t! There is a little women’s collection in their own shop in Antwerp or you can choose to have a dress custom-made and select your own tissues in their unique inventory. Their atelier is open to their clients, assembling the production and the consumption process. This is how it used to be and how it should be…
